My husband has wanted a lamp like this for many years. When he found the clipper ship lantern on your web site in May, I ordered it for his birthday.
David converted the lantern to electricity with a 3-way socket at the top and a flame bulb inside the chimney. He completed the lamp with a wooden base and parchment shade; a ship’s wheel finial is on order. The flame bulb was intended as a nightlight, but it adds such character to the lamp that we leave it on all the time!
The lamp turned out exactly as he had he had envisioned, and I am quite proud of his accomplishment. My daughter is already trying to place an order with her dad. Who knows? He may have a new hobby….
