Our Vermont lanterns got us through the recent week-long power outage in West Virginia. We were so grateful we planned ahead by purchasing several for our home.

This Ship Lantern is a beautiful working handcrafted reproduction in heavy brass cast hardware of old Chief Lanterns. It was originally designed in the 19th century for the Chief mate to find his way throughout the dark deck of the sailing ship during evening hour topside inspections. It still can be used out on the open sea, but also they are fantastic for emergency storm lighting, they do everything the hurricane oil lanterns do and more. Great for your Home, Patio, Boat, Bar, or Office! Ideal gifts for the Chief's in your life who love nautical memorabilia.
This ship lantern stands 10" tall without the handle and is 5.5" wide. The oil burning pot and wick unit are serviced from the opened hinged door on the front of the oil lantern and can be converted into electric nautical light with great ease. The wicks are replacable. You can also choose to mount on your wall with one of our brass wall hangers.
Lantern stand sold seperately!
